- Parenting can be very stressful. The Caring Families program embraces the belief that each parent and child has strengths. They can use these strengths to build healthy families. The program provides families with opportunities to learn new skills as well as build on skills they have already. All of this happens in a safe and supportive environment.
Parents and children spend part of the day doing activities in the playrooms together. Parents use this time to bond with their children and observe their development. Parents also have opportunities to practice their new skills with their children. Programming staff can provide support to families as needed.
Parents also spend part of the day in a group. These group times are just for the parents. Early Childhood staff care for the children while the parents are in their group. Parents spend these times doing different learning activities together.
There is a little bit of personal time during the day too. Parents can use this time in different ways. They can have some one-on-one time with a staff member to discuss any parenting concerns, have more playtime with their kids, use the time to relax or visit with other parents.
Nobody's Perfect - There are no perfect parents, or perfect children. All we can do is our best. All of us need help and support from time to time too. Join other parents in a group environment that can help you to do your best and feel good about yourself and your kids.
Nobody’s Perfect is a 6 session, weekly group that covers the basics of parenting a young child (birth -3 years of age). This group is great for expecting or first time parents.
